Why Empower Therapy and Wellness?
Our Mission: Empower Therapy and Wellness, LLC seeks to empower individuals to embrace their value and purpose through a caring and honest approach.
At Empower Therapy and Wellness, LLC, we want each individual to know they matter and that they are seen. Mental health therapy provides an opportunity for support and fresh perspectives, assistance in bridging the gap from where someone is to where he or she wants to be. Life can get better!
We were not meant to do life alone. We need each other. Research confirms this. Let a clinician or coach come alongside you individually in your new beginning. Maybe you need help connecting with your significant other. Maybe the individual needs to heal old wounds. Whatever the need may be, we at Empower want to help each person and infuse hope.
Empower Therapy and Wellness also offers Christian counseling to those who want to approach mental health therapy with a faith-based approach; however, anyone is welcome and can forgo a faith-based approach if desired. We simply recognize that faith for many is a critical part of the journey and gives them the empowerment they need.

Trauma & PTSD
Trauma is more a part of life than we may realize. Trauma does not have to mean you were horrifically abused or witnessed death. it does not have to mean you went to war. Trauma is personal and individual. It can occur from seemingly small or embarrassing moments, but those moments may have long-lasting and debilitating impacts for years to come.Trauma is more a part of life than we may realize. Christian Counseling

Jenny Currie, the founder of Empower Therapy and Wellness, LLC, believes that Christ is ultimately the Great Counselor and Great Healer who wants to give each person an abundant life. Jenny believes that all truth is God's truth, and so, while not everyone may want to incorporate Christian counseling, she believes that grace, love, and truth are powerful in anyone's healing and are transformative For those who want a Christian approach, prayer and Scripture are woven into the fabric of therapy. Empower, of course, is open to anyone seeking help and accepts each person where he or she is at in the journey. .
Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Mood Disorders
At Empower, we provide treatment for Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, as well as Mood Disorders such as Bipolar 1 and Bipolar II. Using evidenced-based treatments such Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Assertiveness Training, and strengths-based approaches, client and therapist work together to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and improve communications and connection with others. In addition,
Neurodivergence, ADHD, and Autism

Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders
At Empower, we are passionate about helping individuals find freedom from addiction and overcoming the habits that hold them hostage. Utilizing approaches such as Motivational Interviewing and CBT, clients can start to find a way forward for themselves and in the relationships with those around them that are so often impaired as a result of addiction. At Empower, individuals can shut the shame down and open their eyes with clarity.
At Empower, we are passionate about walking alongside those who are neurodivergent. We know that the unique way in which these individuals look at the world is a super-power and we want to enhance it! Those who have a diagnosis of things such as ADHD and Autism will find support in a positive environment where they can find ways to work with their brains, not against them, and to learn coping skills to navigate the world in which they live. This is done through things like Play Therapy and adaptations of CBT and DBT. In addition, caregivers will receive guidance as needed.

Stevanie Brown
MSW, LISW, LSSW
Stevanie Brown understands that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in a positive therapeutic experience. She believes that psychotherapy is just as much a place to laugh, reflect, and celebrate growth as it is a place to grieve, process challenges, and sit with discomfort. Her approach is collaborative and non-hierarchical—clients are the experts on their own lives, and her role is to walk beside them with curiosity, compassion, and clinical insight. She helps children, teens, and young adults—as well as their families—navigate the often confusing and overwhelming worlds of school, relationships, and self-understanding.
Her specialty is working with neurodivergent clients, especially those with ADHD and Autism. She brings a neurodiversity-affirming approach to her work, meaning she focuses on supporting clients in understanding and honoring their brains—not fixing them. This often includes building self-advocacy skills and improving executive functioning strategies.
In all of her work, she aims to create a space that is respectful, playful, warm, and deeply attuned. Therapy with her is never one-size-fits-all. It is responsive, strengths-based, and grounded in mutual respect.
